Alvin and I still had some credit on our birthday gift card for "reflexology". So, we went today for the 2nd time. Do you know what reflexology is? Here is a defnition:
Reflexology, or zone therapy, is the physical practice of massaging, squeezing, or pushing on parts of the feet, or sometimes the hands and ears, with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.
You relax in these lazyboy type chairs and the room has soft music and dimmed lights. The first time we had men doing the therapy but today we had women. Actually the women were much harder in their technique and had a somewhat different approach. You can request low, medium or strong massaging and I always request low because I am a whimp when it comes to any type of rubbing.
So, they first do your face, head, neck and than shoulders and arms. The head and neck feels good! Then they proceed to your feet and legs below the knees (not quite as good for me). Guess who went to sleep and SNORED during this part of the massaging? Alvin gets so relaxed and falls asleep so easily it is obviously easy for him to zone out. So, then they flip you over to do your back side so that is when they woke him up. They could of just quit the massaging and woke him up up after an hour and said they were finished. Alvin obviously loves it (so he says even though he only can remember half of it) and says he felt like butter when we left and didn't want to drive. I don't actually enjoy it that much so probably won't do it again but Alvin will. Why, when you fall asleep!
